Why Is My Business Not Showing Up on Google Maps?
"Not on Google Maps" usually means one of two things. Figure out which one you have before fixing anything.
Case 1: You cannot find your business on Maps at all
- The profile is not verified, or verification stalled.
- The profile is suspended. Check the dashboard for a notice.
- A duplicate listing exists and Google is showing that one instead.
- You set up as a service-area business and are searching for a pin that is intentionally hidden.
Case 2: You show up for your name, but not for your service
- Your primary category does not match the search.
- Competitors have more complete profiles and more recent reviews.
- Your listings across the web disagree on name, address or phone.
- The searcher is far from your address, and nearby competitors win on distance.
What to do next
Fix Case 1 problems first; nothing else matters until the listing is live and verified. For Case 2, start with category and services, then listings, then reviews. Check your ranking from several spots in your area, not just your office.
