Why Is My Google Business Profile Not Showing Up?
A profile that isn't showing up is frustrating precisely because the causes look identical from the outside — suspension, an unresolved verification, a duplicate, or a genuine relevance problem all produce the same symptom. Working through them in order is faster than guessing.
Check these, in order
- Is the profile actually verified? An unverified profile, or one where verification stalled partway, generally will not appear in Search or Maps at all. This is the most common cause and the first thing to rule out.
- Is it suspended? A suspension notice usually appears directly in the profile dashboard — if you haven't checked there, start there before assuming a different cause.
- Is there a duplicate profile competing with it? A second, unclaimed listing for the same business can split visibility or confuse which version Google treats as authoritative.
- Does your category and service area genuinely match what you do and where you operate? A mismatched category or an inaccurate service area can make a real, active profile look irrelevant for the searches you actually want to show up for.
- Is this a search-specific issue, not a profile-wide one? Showing up for your business name but not for a service-related search is a different, narrower problem than not appearing anywhere at all — don't treat them as the same issue.

Not showing up at all is a different, more urgent problem than showing up but ranking low. A ranking problem means Google recognizes and trusts the profile but doesn't consider it the strongest match for a given search. Not appearing at all usually points to an eligibility issue — verification, suspension, or a duplicate — that has to be resolved before ranking is even a relevant question.
