Why Are My Google Business Profile Reviews Not Showing?

A review that doesn't appear, or one that disappears after being posted, is unsettling but usually explainable. The causes range from normal moderation to policy violations to simple display delay — and they call for different responses.

The most common explanations

1. Display delay. A newly posted review doesn't always appear instantly — a short delay before it's visible is normal and not a sign of a problem.
2. Automated content moderation. Google's systems screen reviews for spam, fake engagement patterns, and policy violations, and a legitimate review can occasionally get caught by that screening.
3. The reviewer's account triggered a flag, independent of the review content itself — a new or low-activity Google account is sometimes treated with more scrutiny.
4. A policy violation in the review itself — off-topic content, promotional language, or content that violates Google's review policies can result in removal.

What you can actually do

For a genuinely missing legitimate review, asking the reviewer to confirm it's still visible on their end (sometimes it's a display issue specific to one device or account) is a reasonable first step. If a review is clearly gone rather than delayed, and it was legitimate, there's a formal process for flagging removed reviews for reconsideration — though there's no guarantee of restoration, since Google's moderation decisions aren't always reversed on appeal.

What not to do

Asking customers to repost a removed review, or offering incentives for reviews, both risk violating Google's policies and can make the underlying problem worse rather than better. The more effective long-term approach is a steady, genuine flow of new reviews rather than trying to force one specific missing review back.
